This weekend was a beautiful one. With the tease of spring in the air, birds chirping, daffodils blooming, the sun shining and temps in the 60s. It was great!
Two of our very dearest friends just finished building their first home and moved in this weekend so I put together a simple, budget friendly housewarming gift. Although it wasn’t much, simple gifts and gestures are often what make people feel the most special, and boy are these two special! They just built a beautiful farmhouse planted smack in the middle of pea fields her grandfather farmed even before she was born. So since they’re “farmhouse kind of people” I thought a produce basket filled with simple items would be just what was called for. I packed the basket with a napkin and apron set, a photo frame, a beautiful “Home Sweet Home” print and a mason jar filled with daffodils and tied with a ribbon. I also sent along a good southern lunch of bbq, baked beans, pasta salad and peanut butter pie; because who has time to be cooking on moving day!
While this gift didn’t cost much, I hope it let them know just how thrilled we are for them and their new home.
What are some of your budget friendly gift ideas?
Love,
Callan
