Savoring Summer
Anyone else getting a hankering for cooler temps, crisp air, the smell of wood smoke and everything pumpkin? Can I get an amen?
The past few days we have had slightly cooler temperatures in the evenings, which has only teased my fall cravings. However, I have to keep reminding myself that fall is not here just yet and we still have a little bit longer of hot summer weather left here in Alabama. Therefore, I am forcing myself to continue enjoying the last bit of summer we have left, despite the 100 degree heat index (pretend you didn’t hear that groan).
Before completely transitioning to thoughts of fall, here are some ways I plan to soak up the last bit of summer:
-harvest the last bit of produce from our summer garden
-gather as many flower bouquets as I can to adorn our kitchen table
-drink as much iced coffee as I can hold (don’t tell my husband)
-squeeze in a few more kayak trips
-visit the local farmers market
-enjoy porch sitting in the evenings, listening to the frogs and crickets
What are some ways you savor the last of summer? Share your list in the comments.
Love, Callan

Beautiful pictures! I always enjoy reading blog posts from Wilderwood. Can’t wait until the Christmas trees are ready for customers.

Swimming and going to the beach. My list doesn’t sound quite as productive as yours… 🙂
